Lived high off the hog or was it hand to mouth
I’m going through the motions while everything goes south
That’s just my silhouette has not grown up yet
Just treads water
Shoots the breeze
Charms the birds
From the morning trees
Never found a brick wall To knock my head against
And no-one is as black as everybody paints
I do not have a number that ever will come up
No brightly colored ribbons tied around my cup
I’m happy with the trees I do not need to see the wood
Missed a lot of targets but it’s the test of time I stood
Am not that kind of worker who always blames his tools

I joined a one man army and joined up all the dots
Started on the warpath to fight for a lost cause
But I turned tail and scarpered to even up the scores

thought he heard a funny noise
or was that something burning
told the british rail man but he didn’t want to know
they cut him out with torches laid his body in the snow
some bloke i was talking to last tuesday in the dragon
said he dumped his wife couldn’t stand the grief and naggin
met him there on Friday and we got talking again
said he’d moved out on the wednesday
and have you met my boyfriend ken
some blokes do the horses and some blokes watch the telly
some don’t give a monkeys and some they give it welly
some work on the allotments
where they dig deep down for gold
and though some blokes turn tale and run
they know they’ll never flee the fold
some bloke in a car near Swindon west he needs a breather
didn’t see the HGV which didn’t see him either
wakes up in Swindon hospital he’ll never walk again
but he’s fallen for the night nurse and shares her maiden name
some bloke in a bettin shop he’s down to his last 50
puts it on an outside shot which turns out rather nifty
when he hits the high street has a cardiac arrest
celestial facilitator thinks it’s for the best
